WelcomeHome has a messenger tool that allows users to text prospects, referrers, influencers, or other related contacts from within WelcomeHome.
To use this feature, the person must have a valid cell phone number added to their profile.
*Note: Information on how to add a phone number to a prospect or referrer profile can be found in the WelcomeHome User Guide.
1. There are two ways to send a message- the first is to start on the profile of the person who you want to send the message to. Click on the summary tab.
Below the blue "Update Profile" button, there are three buttons: Email, Call, and Text.
*Note: If the button is greyed out, as the email is in the image above, that means there is not valid email or phone number in the profile.
2. Click on the Text button. The messenger will open, and you can type your message in the "Type a message" bar at the bottom of the screen, select a pre-uploaded text message template, or utilize the talk to text icon!. *Please note that the messenger does not currently allow for the sending of images*
3.) Click the paper airplane button once you have typed and reviewed your message. The text will be sent to the phone number on file.
The second way to use the messenger tool is directly from the messenger tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
1.) Once here, you will see any message history with people who you have texted through WelcomeHome. You can select a name from list that appears OR use the search bar to search for anyone's name.
2.) If you have never messaged the person before, search their name and you will see the option to "Start a new conversation with...".
3.) Click on their name from the search results to open a messenger window and text them. Search results will include prospects, referrers, and influencers.
Once a recipient is selected, you can type your message in the "Type a message" bar at the bottom of the screen and send.
4.) If a prospect was shared from another community, you can view any previous messages with that prospect for added context.
Receiving Inbound texts
When a prospect responds to a text message, you will receive a push notification on your messenger tab in WelcomeHome and on the mobile app.
If you are not receiving notifications on your mobile app, make sure you have enabled notifications directly from your phone.
You can now filter by Sales Counselor or All Conversations. Individual Sales Counselors can choose to Subscribe to a conversation and have it appeared when filtering by their name in Messenger.
Similarly, Sales Counselors can now choose to receive push notifications when new messages are received from individual conversations by clicking the Bell icon next to Subscribe. If you accidentally have subscribed or no longer wish to receive notifications, you may click to Unsubscribe'.
Deleting Messages
Sensitive information can be sent in a message and it is best to write that information down and store it elsewhere. For example, if a prospect sends their Social Security Number, they might not want that sitting in your CRM long term. Therefore, you can delete those messages.
If you hover over the message with your mouse, you will see a trash can icon appear.
Once you have clicked the icon, it will then verify that you want to delete it.
After pressing "Ok" your message has been successfully deleted and will be permanently deleted after 30 days.
It will also show you who deleted it for your records.
